Job Description
This leading commodity business in the world operates through 80+ offices around 55+ countries with trading business, logistic operation and refinery plants. The company has achieved substantial growth in recent years, growing turnover from USD 18 billion in 2004 to USD 120 billion in 2012.
A Financial Controller role has been created to ensure the integrity and the efficient production of the financial reporting, and providing value-added decision making capacity. You will report to country manager and group controller based in Shanghai, China with 2 direct reports.
The main purpose is to ensure the national statutory requirements are fully adhered to and that effective compliance programs are conducted for e.g. government bodies, official filings, reporting to worker councils, etc. You need to create management information for country and group management and perform accounting and reporting for BU related units in the country. You will also be in charge of professional control of projects or processes of that specific function and act a sounding board for the country manager and local management of the SSC in China. Externally, you will interface with local tax authorities, auditors and financial institutions and related.
To be a successful candidate, you shall have bachelor degree above in accounting, finance or business-related majors with understanding of IFRS, China GAAP as well. Experience from international big 4 and knowledge of derivatives and hedging in commodity industry is highly appreciated.
