Job Description
Our client is one of the largest financial services providers in the world. They move, lend, invest and protect money for customers and clients worldwide, providing large corporate, government and institutional clients with a full spectrum of solutions to their strategic advisory, financing and risk management needs.
The Legal Department in Japan is responsible for identifying and (in conjunction with business management) managing the legal risks of the bank.
They are now looking for a junior (2-5PQE) bengoshi to join their investment banking legal team.
You will work as a part of the Investment Banking coverage team in Tokyo Legal providing legal support to the Investment Banking Division for their M&A and ECM/ DCM related activities. In addition, you will be expected to handle a bit of general derivatives/structured finance related legal work.
You will have a Japanese Bengoshi qualification (and preferably also be qualified in either the US or UK).
You should have at least 2-3 years work experience in a law firm. In return, you will be given cutting edge work in a position covering Asia from Japan, dealing with both Japan related legal issues and wider regional matters.
