About Business Development The business development team is part of the Internal Firm Services line of service. It is responsible for driving the establishment and maintenance of strong client relationships and high quality service delivery to the firm's priority accounts. It does this through working with the firm's leadership and with relationship partners and account teams across the business. Although the team is run centrally, most team members are physically dispersed around different areas of the business. Job description and responsibilities The role is based in the firm' Financial Services Group, playing an important role within the Asset Management team helping to develop client relationships, identify opportunities and maximise revenue.
There are two main dimensions to the role: 1. In the market (30% of time)
This will include building connections with existing and potential clients - to identify and qualify new business opportunities that can be followed up by the Asset Management team across the firm. This will involve the role holder leveraging their existing connections and establishing new relationships, in order to set up meetings between contacts and PwC experts, as well managing follow up, including the preparation of proposals and presentations. In addition, the role holder will be expected to represent the firm at various seminars and presentations attended by potential clients.
2. Within the firm (70% of time)
This will include working with partners and staff to coach them on building their business relationships, building networks within the firm to ensure the right expertise is brought together to meet clients' needs and also working as part of two groups which determine the Asset Management team's areas of market focus and business development activity.
Reporting structure and key relationships: Reports to the business development director for China/Hong Kong, dotted line reports to Financial Services markets leader and the Asset Management sector leader.
Requirements: - Bachelor degree holder or above with experience of working with hedge funds, real estate funds, asset managers in Hong Kong;
- Good understanding of the Asset Management industry;
- Existing network of contacts that can be leveraged is preferable;
- Reasonable understanding of professional services firms would be an advantage;
- Flexible and adaptable;
- Outgoing personality with well-developed social skills;
- Curiosity and hunger to learn;
- Interested in building their understanding of the firm and its services, and in building their career in one of the largest professional services firms; and
- Fluent Cantonese and English (speaking, reading and writing).
